![]() ![]() I found several plugins not included that I would like to continue to have access to, including the IR1 and the 360 bundle. ![]() ![]() The first thing I did was check which plugins are included in the Essential Creative Access option. Waves Essential gives you access to 110 Waves plugins for $14.99 per month or $149.99 per annum. Waves Ultimate gives you access to every Waves plugin for $24.99 per month or $249.99 per annum. With Creative Access, there are two options… But would that be more expensive than my annual WUP costs me? Reading the information available, it became clear that the only way to continue to keep my Waves plugins up to date would be to move to a new Waves subscription. ![]() That way, I can be confident to be able to open legacy sessions with Waves plugins and not worry. It's not a huge amount a year to pay to keep all the Waves stuff I own up to date I have been paying $240 per annum. My choice until now has been to keep my WUP going. However, like others in my position, several plugins were harder to do without, as we covered in our article Waves Plugins Post Production Users Struggle To Live Without. But when Waves made the decision only to support AAX Native and not support AAX DSP, I had to find alternatives so I could continue to work with DSP plugins. My History With Wavesīack in the days of TDM, I was a big fan of Waves, and you would find them in all my templates and sessions. Here are my thoughts and plans on what to do with my Waves plugins. Since Waves announced their move to a subscription-only option, I have been considering what I will do. But with the change in Waves Audio’s business model, he now needs to decide what to do as his WUP expires in May 2023. I restarted my computer to be sure, re-opened Cubase and it worked ! I guess it will be the case with other plugins using OpenGL).Mike Thornton has a selection of Waves bundles and plugins that he has acquired over the years, and until now, he has chosen to keep his Waves Upgrade Plan up to date. If it is the case, type “msconfig” in the Windows start search bar, go to “Services” tab and uncheck the box for Nahimic.Verify if the Nahimic process is running on your computer : Task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del).So I just looked at the “Nahimic” issue… I observed that the process was running in background (I’m a Windows 10 user) and I just deactivate the program (didn’t ne… I have a RTX 2070 with the latest drivers so I couldn’t believe the problem came from my graphic card. The VST window was empty (blank screen) and it freezed my DAW. The VST always crashed with 3 screens (but not with 2). Yes, thank you Danam ! I had a similar problem with an Arturia VST (Pigments) and Cubase (but also with Cakewalk). Lockups with plugins on multi-screen configuration Cubase I did some screenshots to visualize the szenario: The plugin should initiate on the primary screen with its GUI shown correctly! No more freezese or crashes, AS LONG as you allways close it on the primary screen!.Now load an VSTi that normally makes trouble (in my case, all Arturia from the V7 collection were the ‘bad guys’.).Now the dialogue should appear on the primary screen. Redo clicking the ‘Add new instrument’ in the ‘VSTi Instruments’ window. If the windows appears on your secondary window, FIRST move it to the primary monitor! Then CANCEL the dialogue (only needed for the first time)!.In the VSTi-Instruments window, I clicked on the icon for ‘Add new (track-) instrument’.(To its right side, all other windows can be placed) I placed the VSTi-Instruments window all the way to the left on my primary screen. What I did was creating a new workspace with the described layout below and saved it as a preset to get the same window layout for every new project. When closing them, Cubase completely freezed and I could only kill the task via the task manager.Īll discussed solutions didn’t do the trick for me (like deactivation of ‘Always on top’ plugin setting or unhooking the ‘HiDPI’ setting… and many more). _As other users mentioned before, I got white windowed plugins from some vendors. _Of course I set Windows 10 to expand the desktop to the secondary monitor. _ Primary monitor (1) is the left one, secondary (2) the right one! _I use two monitors at UHD (2560x1440 pixel). I found a solution that works for me because I absolutely couldn’t accept to work with only one monitor. ![]()
